The Presidents Grade team known as the “Slaters” has enjoyed great success over the past two decades and although a social grade the win – loss record of this team over this lengthy period is exception with the 2008 highlight being winners of the Annual Speights International Presidents Rugby Tournament hosted by Takapuna Rugby Club.

The Mount Golden Oldies “Mounties”

The Golden Oldies are an important feature of the Club with regular matches taking place on a Sunday afternoon throughout the rugby season. 

The Golden Oldies Motto is Fun, Friendship & Fraternity, and that is how we play our rugby.

A good group of guys (and their partners) that enjoy a good game of rugby, and the celebration of the game afterwards (usually involving beer).

We generally play only 1 tournament each year, then 7 games with teams throughout the BOP and Waikato. There are no trainings to worry about, and we can have as many reserves as we want, and generally we want as many as we can get!

Every few years we like to do an overseas team trip. Our last trip was to the Bledisloe in Brisbane 2006, our next is to the Golden Oldies world tournament in Sydney 2010.
